Our Story
A nine-year-old with a heart for giving wanted to raise money for dogs who assisted Veterans. It took a little brainstorming and pattern help from mom and grandma, and Woof Wags (a pun off Woof Rags) was born.
In six short months, she made hundreds of reversible Woof Wags bandanas out of donated fabric. She set up a table in a parking lot near a pharmacy + at a local pet fair (they waived her table fee since she donated 100% of her earnings). Miss G raised over $500 for America’s VetDogs.
A few years later we wondered why we weren’t still selling Woof Wags. After all, our two labs (Luca + Boone) and new pawfectly cute family member (Harley the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) wore them all the time.
And now…
Planning and understanding commitment came into play (win, win for a teaching moment from mom). High school brother Mr. C requested to partner and expand Woof Wags beyond bandanas. Now that he’s in college, he helps when he’s home, running errands, tagging, shipping and picking out new fabrics.
Our expansion included sophisticated Boone who needed a tie, + Harley needed beautiful bows… plus her long ears needed protection with a snood. So now we do custom orders and special requests for bandanas and bowties and focus more on snoods in our shop.
We revamped our logo, expanded to include all animals, thus adding “+ co.” to our name. Anytime you would like to cusotomize or request a fabulous ‘want’, just send us a message! We love designing new things!
Happy Tails
Meet our furry family:
Boone: sweet, loving, lap dog. Rescued from Texas through Save-a-Lab. Loves ham, constant touch + sleeping. Hates nail trims, moving fast + being left alone. (We think he’s more golden retriever than lab…and part hound.)
Luca: crazy, energetic, bowl-loving Dudley (pink nose) fox red/yellow lab. Loves running, counter surfing, eating socks + carrying her bowl. Hates being sprayed with anything + sitting still.
Harley: sweetest, cuddliest, queen-of-the-lap (queen of everything). Loves food, food, + food, thus, loves her snood. Loves skate boarding + grooming. Hates pedicures, velcro (it matts her fur) + the vacuum… it is a lethal enemy and she the protector.
Gooseberry Cider: the blue-eyed ragdoll cat who owns us all and thinks she’s a dog!
We believe in spreading smiles + supporting causes that assist others so we’ll continue to donate. This year we selected an organization that supports the rescue, care and adoption of cavaliers. We selected the Greater Chicago Cavalier Rescue.
